Christmas film quiz

What’s included

• 20 questions with space to write each answer
• A separate answer sheet on page 2
• Name and score boxes
• 2 A4 pages, designed to print well in colour or black and white

How to play

1. Split everyone into teams, mixing ages so each team has film fans from different generations.
2. Print one question sheet per team. The quizmaster keeps the answer page face down.
3. Read each question aloud, or let teams work through the sheet at their own pace. Allow about 20 minutes.
4. Swap sheets between teams, read out the answers and award a point for each correct one. Highest score wins.

Tips

• Accept close spellings: a point for “Nakatomi” in any form is in the Christmas spirit.
• Pick the winning team’s favourite film from the quiz as the evening’s viewing.
• Some of these films are rated 12 or 15, so younger players may not have seen them: pair them with a grown-up film buff.

Printing tips

• Print at 100% or “Actual size” rather than “Fit to page”, so nothing gets trimmed.
• Everything is A4. If your printer only takes US Letter, choose “Fit to page” instead.
• Thicker paper (120–160gsm) feels nicer to write on and survives a night out; plain 80gsm is fine too.
• Black and white works: the designs are made to stay clear without colour.
