What’s included

  • 20 questions with space to write each answer
  • A separate answer sheet on page 2
  • Name and score boxes
  • 2 A4 pages, designed to print well in colour or black and white

How to play

  1. Split everyone into teams, mixing ages so each team has a good spread of knowledge.
  2. Print one question sheet per team. The quizmaster keeps the answer page face down.
  3. Read each question aloud (or let teams work through the sheet at their own pace). Allow about 20 minutes.
  4. Swap sheets between teams, read out the answers and award a point for each correct one. Highest score wins.

Tips

  • Be generous with spelling: a point for “Twankey” in any form is in the Christmas spirit.
  • For younger children, read the easier questions (Rudolph, Boxing Day, snowflakes) to them as a bonus round.
  • Read the answers out with a little drum roll: it makes even “Red” feel like a triumph.

Printing tips

  • Print at 100% or “Actual size” rather than “Fit to page”, so nothing gets trimmed.
  • Everything is A4. If your printer only takes US Letter, choose “Fit to page” instead.
  • Thicker paper (120–160gsm) feels nicer to write on and survives a night out; plain 80gsm is fine too.
  • Black and white works: the designs are made to stay clear without colour.
