New Year’s Eve time capsule for kids (2026)

What’s included

• 14 prompts with space to write a name

• 1 A4 page, designed to print well in colour or black and white

How to play

1. Print one sheet per child and help younger ones with the writing.
2. Measure their height and add the date at the top.
3. Fold the sheet, seal it in an envelope and write ‘Open on New Year’s Eve 2027’ on the front.
4. Open it next New Year’s Eve and compare. Then fill in a new one!

Tips

• Tuck the envelope in with the Christmas decorations so it turns up again next December.
• Add a drawing or a photo on the back.
• Grown-ups can do one too: it’s just as fun to read back.

Printing tips

• Print at 100% or “Actual size” rather than “Fit to page”, so nothing gets trimmed.
• Everything is A4. If your printer only takes US Letter, choose “Fit to page” instead.
• Thicker paper (120–160gsm) feels nicer to write on and survives a night out; plain 80gsm is fine too.
• Black and white works: the designs are made to stay clear without colour.
