Christmas lights spotter

What’s included

• 16 challenges with tick boxes, worth 5 to 20 points each
• Team name and total boxes
• 1 A4 page, designed to print well in colour or black and white

How to play

1. Print one sheet per child and take pencils and a clipboard or a book to lean on.
2. Head out after dark on a walk or a drive around your area.
3. Tick off each decoration when you spot it.
4. Add up the points at home over a hot chocolate.

Tips

• A torch helps with reading the sheet in the dark.
• Ask on local social media for the best-decorated streets near you.
• In the car, the person in the front reads the list out.

Printing tips

• Print at 100% or “Actual size” rather than “Fit to page”, so nothing gets trimmed.
• Everything is A4. If your printer only takes US Letter, choose “Fit to page” instead.
• Thicker paper (120–160gsm) feels nicer to write on and survives a night out; plain 80gsm is fine too.
• Black and white works: the designs are made to stay clear without colour.
